Learn to swim start from 6 months up to adults. Mermaid swim classes are open to anybody that can already swim. This is not a Learn to Swim class, you need to be able to swim the full length of the pool. We generally take kids from 7 years, but if you can proof that you are a strong swimmer you can start sooner or bring a life jacket.

We offer a Merpups class from 4 - 6 years; Mermaiding 7 - 12 years and 13 - adult. We have mermaid tails and monofins for all ages and sizes.

Arrive 10 minutes before your class start. Wear appropriate swim clothes, goggles and a cap. Changing rooms and showers available. Wait in the viewing area where your Swim Coach will receive you.

Learn to swim: Children up to 3 years please wear a wet suit that includes a nappy that will keep the solids inside. Bring a towel and dry clothes for afterwards. Mermaiding: Please bring a swimsuit, dry clothes for afterwards, swim goggles, nose plug and a towel. We provide a professional Finis Luna and Mahina Mermaid monofin and beautifully Proudly South African made swimmable mermaid tails. Swim caps and ear plugs are optional. Bring an underwater camera to take pictures.

For the best mermaid experience, we strongly advise purchasing your mermaid tail from a reputable, local supplier. Steer clear of low-quality imitations, as they might compromise safety. We are happy to reschedule if you can't make a class, but please let us know as soon as you can. If we do not hear from you and you do not show, you will forfeit the class. Please arrange for make-up lessons before your class time, not afterwards. Please e-mail info@merschool.co.za to arrange to reschedule or permanently move your classes.

We require one calendar month’s written notice of termination – only written notice will be accepted via email. If no notice is received you will continue to be held liable for payment until notice is received.

Our contract is like a gym contract. When you book you are automatically booked until you cancel. We need one month written cancellation notice. Classes can be rescheduled (1 reschedule a month if you swim once a week, 2 reschedule classes a month to swim twice a week, etc..) as long as we receive notice before class starts or else you forfeit the class. Please e-mail info@merschool.co.za to reschedule or request to move your classes to another time slot or teacher. Invoices are due for payment by the 1st of the month. You are billed every month pro-rata (holidays are not billed for). Rescheduled bookings can only be made up outside of your permanent booking.

During COVID we will have smaller classes with government rules and regulations in place. Book your class in advance to avoid disappointment. We clean all surfaces, floors, changing rooms (with residual sanitizer that lasts 24 hours) and pool regularly. The heated water and 24/7 filtration kills all viruses, The water is the safest place to be right now!
